About Us

The Great Falls Tribune has been serving northcentral Montana for more than 135 years. The Great Falls Tribune originated in 1885 as a weekly newspaper and is the oldest business in Great Falls. Two years later, the Tribune became a daily afternoon paper and then converted to a morning publication in 1890. Other highlights:
In March 1990, Gannett Co. Inc. bought the newspaper.
In 2000 we won a Pulitzer Prize for explanatory reporting and launched our website www.greatfallstribune.com.
In 2005 we launched the e-Edition, an electronic newspaper online.

In 2005 we expanded our commercial print business by creating River’s Edge Printing and Distribution. More recently we have transformed into an around-the-clock news and information center with breaking news being posted online throughout the day and into the night. No other news media can deliver the local, communities news like we can. By expanding the interactivity of our Website, we are reaching more readers than ever through online videos, photo galleries, blogs and forums. Our delivery area serves a sprawling 13-county area, roughly the size and shape of S. Carolina with a population of 117,900 adults. Great Falls online has an average of 168,775 unique visitors to the site each month, with more than 1.8 million pages viewed.
7 of 10 adults in our 13-county region read the Great Falls Tribune in the past 7-days.
