About Us
Established at 422 2nd Street South in Great Falls in 2001, The Cascade County Historical Society does business under the name The History Museum. The History Museum is a research center with more than 300,000 historical papers, records and pieces of historical memorabilia. The mission of the museum is to preserve and promote the history of Cascade County and north-central Montana. This is done by using historical records and memorabilia to produce PBS quality documentaries with a local history focus and exhibits that tell the story of the various people, who have shaped the history of this area. The History Museum is the people's museum, whether you are interested in farmers, ranchers, smelter workers, small businesses, educators or others-- this museum will tell their stories.
